Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cups stale bread, preferably brioche, but any stale bread will do
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 ½ cups fresh or frozen mixed berries (raspberries, blueberries, or blackberries)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • four ramekins, buttered

Instructions

Notes:

For a sweeter bread pudding, you can add another 1/4 cup of sugar.


Use unsalted butter for buttering the ramekins.
