  • 6 bacon strips, chopped
  • 1 log (4 ounces) fresh goat cheese, cut into 12 slices
  • 2 large onions, finely chopped
  • 3 shallots, thinly sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 large egg white, beaten
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp minced fresh thyme or 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
