Rum Cake
My aunts dropping off homemade rum cake always signaled the beginning of the holiday season. Deep, dark, and dense, they were always a treat I've enjoyed. My version is a bit lighter and doesn't have the candied bits they loved, but I've made sure there is plenty of rum to get you into the holiday spirit.
Classic Sugar Cookies
Sugar cookies are the best! A few years ago it became a tradition to have friends over on a Saturday afternoon to help me decorate batches of them. Lots of frosting, colored sugar, and sprinkles and it's an adult cookie coloring party. It may be the holiday sangria but I think they come for the cookies.
